Neck Drop
CONTERNECK DROP-vertical from imaginary line
The imaginary fine is created by measuring straight from
shoulder neck point to shoulder neck point. If shoulder seam is moved,
measurement is taken at natural shoulder fold.
Hemmed or bound neck, measured straight down to neck edge at
center front.
FRONT NECK DROP-vertical from imaginary line:
The imagtary fine is created by measuring straight form
shoulder neck point to shoulder neck point. If shoulder seam is
moved, measurement is taken at natural shoulder fold.
Collared or banded neck-measured straight down to neck seam
at carter front.
BACK NECK DROP-vertical from imaginary line:
The imagtary fine is created by measuring straight form
shoulder neck point to shoulder neck point. If shoulder is moved, measurement is
taken at natural shoulder fold.
Hemmed or bound neck, measured straight down to neck edge at
center front.

Garments Measurements
Easurement Instructions:
Bust/Chest:
a) With front of garment facing you, measure straight across
bust/chest from side to side of armholes seam.
b) On garments with pleats, fully extend pleats without
stretching fabric.
Across chest:
1.
With front of garment facing you, measure 5 in, down
from high shoulder point parallel to center front. Mousier straight occurs 5 in
from armhole to armhole.
Sweep garment with vents or shirttail Hems:
a) Lay garment flat in closed position.
b)Measure straight okras
from side to side at top of vend or shirttail hem.
Sweep- Garment with straight Hems:
a) Lay garment flat in closed position.
b) Measure from side to side along bottom of garment.
Front Length:
1. Measure from high shoulder point, down front body, to
bottom of germent.
Take measurements with:
a) A dressmakers or fiberglass coated tope measure (checked
periodically ongoing a metal ruler to assure accuracy).
b) Garments laid on a flit surface in a relaxed position.
c) All wrinkles gently smoothed out.
d) Buttons and/or zippers fully closed (unless otherwise
stated).
Across Shoulder:
a) With bock of
garment racing you, locate shoulder pints (where shoulder seam meets fop of
Charlemagne, or where natural fold of shoulder
meets top of armhole) on each side of garments.
b) Measure straight across shoulders from point to point.
c) If garments is
sleeveless, measure exuding any
firm at amole.
Across Bock:
1.
With bock or garment taking you measure 4 in,down
from high shoulder point parallel to center back.
2.
Measure across at 4 in. Mark from armhole to
armhole.
Center Back Length:
a) Measure from center of back neck some, down center of the
back, to bottom of garment.
Shoulder Slope:
a) Draw an imaginary line parallel with hem from high
shoulder point out to shoulder width .
b) From that point, measure straight down to shoulder point.
Sleeve Length – Garments With
set -in-Sleeves:
a) With back of garment facing you, measure half of shoulder
width starting of center back neck, to shoulder point at top of armhole, than
along center fold of sleeve to cuff edge.
Vent Height:
a) Measure from bottom edge of garment to top of vent
opening.
Instruction and diagrams for measuring the dimensions of a
shirt after production and finishing.
Sleeve Length – Garments with Raglan Sleeves:
a) Lay garment with back facing you.
b)Measure from center back neck at base of neck, in a
straight line down sleeve, to sleeve edge.
Armeseye-Roglan Bock:
a) Lay bock of garment forcing you with body panel lying flat (without wrinkles of armhole seam).
b) Measure form base of neck following contour of seam to
armhole side seam intersection point.
Armseye-Raglan Front:
a) Lay Garment with front facing you and body panel lying flat (without wrinkles at armhole
seam).
b)Measure from base of neck folloeing contour of seam to
armhole/side seam intersection.
Armseye-Sleeved & Sleeveless:
a) Lay garment with front facing you with body panel lying flat (without wrinkles at armhole
seam).
b)Following armhole seam contour, measure from bottom of
armhole to top of armhole keeping tape on body side of seam.
a) Care must be taken to rotate tope measure so that
measuring edge is absolutely flit oblong armhole seam.
Upper arm:
a) Measure 1 in,down from underarm, then from that point
measure straight across sleeve perpendicular to center fold of sleeve.
Elbow:
a) Fold sleeve in half, so edge of cuff is positioned at
bottom of armhole.
b) Measure straight across this fold from underarm to center
fold.
Cuff opening:
a) Measure straight across bottom of sleeve from underarm
side of cuff to center fold side of cuff.
b) For button cuff, cuff should be measured closed and
buttoned on first button.
Cuff Height:
a) Measure from cuff/sleeve seam down to edge of cuff.
Neck Width:
a) Lay garment flat.
b) Measure straight across from high shoulder point to high
shoulder point at base of ribbing or collar.
c)If there is no coller or firm, measure form edge to edge
of high shoulder point.
Front Neck Depth:
a) Lay garment flat with front facing you.
b) Draw on imaginary line at base of neck, From hogh shoulder
point to high shoulder point.
c) From that center point, measure straight down to ace of
ribbing or collar at center front.
Back Neck Depth:
a) Lay garment flat with back facing you.
b) Draw on imaginary line at base of neck, from high shoulder
point to high shoulder point.
c)From that center point, measure straight down to ace of
ribbing or collar at center back.
Collar Height:
a) Measure at center back from base of coller to top outer
edge of collar.
Collar Length at Outer Efge:
a) Undo all the buttons and lay collar flat so that inside of
garment is facing you.
b)Measure along collar edge from collar point to collar
point.
Collar Point:
1.Lay collar flat.
2.Measure along collar edge from collar point to collar
point.
3.If there is no collar bond, measure from neck seam to
collar point.
Collar Band Hight :
a) Measure at center back from neck line seam to top of band.
Collar base Edge-With or Without Band:
a) Undo all buttons and lay collar flat with inside of
garment facing you.
b) Measure along collar base from edgeto edge.
c) If garment has a zipper exclude the zipper from.

Introduction of Ready Made Garment(RMG)
RMG contributes 76% of total exports in Bangladesh . Major
products of apparels include
Knit and woven Shirts, blouses, trousers, skirts, shorts ,jackets,
sweaters, sports wear and many
More casual and fashion items. The sector currently employs approximately
1.5 million
Largest industrial sector.
This is largely due to the simple level of technology needed
by the industry. Moreover, relatively
inexpensive and
easily available machineries, requirement of smaller premises, abundant supply
of
cheaper work force,
low tariffs on imported machineries and, most significantly, benefits of
reserved
markets by MFA quota
have spurred the growth of the garment industry.
At present the country
exports nearly 5 billion US$ per year to around 90 countries in the
world
which include USA, Canada, Germany, UK, France ,Italy, Netherlands,
Spain and Belgium. In fact,
Bangladesh is the 6th largest supplier of
apparels in the US market.
In order to export readymade garments, it is now almost
mandatory for the exporters to disclose
the quality parameters towards acceptance of the product as
per the intended and use as decided
by the worlds leading brands. Knowledge in regulations pertaining
to the area of flammability, care
label and fiber products identification act are very
important for export oriented garment
trade,
which is not only to satisfy the requirement of U.S. Federal
Trade regulation but also to safeguard
the interest of consumers. Performance evaluation of the garments
is essential prior to shipment
with a view to meet the specific requirement standards of
the buyers. Working environment ,
wherein the garments are to be produced, is equally important
to protect human rights and the
code of conduct derives the basic objectives of social
compliance issues. Thus, Bangladesh has a
stiff challenge ahead to meet
the demand of world market.
